From Russia with Club 24

Been a while since I've posted, but rest assured this new set is worth the wait. Before I get to the description and set list, I just want to say a few words about a few of the great DJ's and shows I've been to so far this summer. On May 20th and 21st I attended the first Electric Daisy Carnival NYC (which was actually in New Jersey). Despite some logistical hiccups, the show was actually really well done. Highlights included strong sets from Jochen Miller, Sebastien Ingrosso, and Calvin Harris on Saturday and Sunnery James, Locodice, and Dubfire on Sunday. However, my favorite act by far was Dirty South, who has been incredible every time I have seen him live. If ever you have the chance to catch the Serbian-Australian hitmaker at a festival, do not miss out.

Two weeks later I found myself in Las Vegas the same weekend as EDC LV. The festival was not my purpose for being in Sin City, and I did not get to the show at the Speedway; still, that did not preclude me from seeing Bingo Players & Afrojack at Surrender and Sebastien Ingrosso at XS. Once again, my favorite show was on the last full day. I saw AN21, Max Vangeli, and Steve Angello at Encore Beach Club. The music was rock solid, but what really made the scene was dancing in the pool and splashing around, while the killer beats were dropping. Once again, do your best to have that kind of experience once or twice in your life.

On to the music. A true progressive set, From Russia with Club 24 starts with a slow build before hitting the ragers, and, in a departure from previous sets, ending on some glitch/dubstep. I've been obsessed with every song in this set at one time or another, but my favorite tracks at the moment are undoubtedly Mark Knight's "Alright", Thomas Gold's remix of "The Wave", and most of all, Dirty South's rendition of Michael Brun's "Rise". The setlist is missing some of the names I rely on more frequently, but don't let that throw you off. Every song in the list brings the heat.

Without further ado, Iggy N Scratchy Presents: From Russia with 24 (128 kbps).
